My domain begins with "a" and is most definitely NOT back up. I'm going to bed to nurse my cold now and will not be a happy bunny if it is still down in the morning.

Please PM me your domain name, I will get this verified.

Alphabetical order restoration is not according to domain names, it is according to cPanel usernames. Accounts upto letter 'j' have been completely restored

Well mine was up for a brief second or two and I can confirm that cokeibm's post regarding the restore being 24 hours ago and nothing saved in between as being correct. Thankfully I kept a full backup and just overwrote everything when my ftp access came back up again but something really insane happened to my mysql databases when the restore had finally done me.

The restore didn't restore any changes made to by db over the last 24 hours like my site which I have manually added back in now but it also added databases and tables that I had and deleted weeks ago! Not only that, the database in question is un-deletable my end! Mysql admin says it was a successful delete yet phpmyadmin and mysqladmin (after refresh) beg to differ, I have put in a ticket about it because it's highly fustrating.

Anyway, end of a very long story all my websites have gone back down again from being up, my celebrations were cut very short by page load errors and cpanel and ftp access lockout again. *sigh*

Latest backup (before the server went down) has now been restored. Please verify the same and do let us know if you need any further assistance.

The servers didn't go down till late morning, is the early morning backup for today not available?

Well, the question that comes to mind is, how the system libraries can become corrupted in the first place. Looks like the system was upgraded, but with a wrong version.

And, why does it take so long to restore the server? Wouldn't it be easier to move the customer disks physically to a new machine and configure that as "manchester"?

I work in a bank, where production systems are never changed without announcement and never without a rollback plan...

Data of all the accounts is being restored directly from the old server's hard drive so it is the late morning backup which has been restored.

Sorry Ryan but thats incorrect, i run a forum and all posts made yesterday are not there.

Only posts from Saturday are there, everything posted yesterday/today is gone. Barnzy has found the same.

Its no big deal for my site, but this may have an impact on others,

That is correct, but things like these happen unexpectadly and I don't blame eukhost as they have always been good in the past, any good web developer should have a backup on a their local machine of everything on the web server (for unexpected cases such as these) I think it's just a wake up call, heh.

I just wish all my websites would come back online sometime soon, I'm in desperate need to use one of them in particular now and can't do anything but sit and wait.

Yeah, my site is also running a slower than it used to.

Well done on keeping us updated and trying to get things sorted asap.

Thankfully yesterday is behind us and all seems to be working normally. Luckily we'll never know how many sales we lost!

Hopefully your best technical brains are working out why this happened - not so much the failure of the master server but why it was able to transfer to the mirrored server so we lost everything. There is no point advertising 100% up time if it isn't achievable.

Would it be possible to post your solution to the problem somewhere, so that we can all rest a bit easier?

Please thank all the technicians that worked long hours to fix it.

    Default Webmail Errors

I've received the following error a couple of times now. 1st was last night just after the server build was completed, I just accepted it as not quite being ready to dish the mail. I logged in ok this morning and was able to view mail etc. I just attempted to log on again about 10 minutes ago and got the same error. I contacted support via Live Chat but during this it came available again. Support advised there's nothing wrong, it wont happen again (but if it does contact them again) and the server is working fine.
Obviously there was something wrong and my worry is there's no investigation on the problem, so anyone with knowledge, here's the error message I got

Warning: include_once(config/db.inc.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/roundcube/program/include/main.inc on line 147 Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening 'config/db.inc.php' for inclusion (include_path='/usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/roundcube/:/usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/roundcube/program:/usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/roundcube/program/lib:/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/lib/php/:.') in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/roundcube/program/include/main.inc on line 147 Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #2 is not an array in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/roundcube/program/include/main.inc on line 148 DATABASE ERROR: CONNECTION FAILED! Old Manchester had SAS drives and we have very few servers which can accommodate SAS drives. Fortunately we are now on a high specification E5420 which has got SATA drives with RAID1. We won't face any problem in moving SATA drives from this new server to any other server and mount it on the other server if similar situation arises.

Old manchester was running short of disk space due to low capacity SAS drives, we won't face such problem again in future as we've got rid of the old server. If you have lost any data then please contact our support team as we can recover data from the old server for those who have lost some important data.

Manchesters just been binned then - a victim of the credit crunch . I suppose one positive thing is that no doubt the new server should perform better than the older one did - as well as be more reliable .
