Default Network problems with 109. and 213. IP range

    Dear Customers,

All our shared servers, VPS Hosting nodes, Semi-dedicated host machines & Dedicated servers in the sub-net range of 109.*.*.*, & 213.*.*.* are facing problems at the moment.. The servers will be back to normal functionality shortly.

We still do not know the exact cause of this outage & will update you all with the exact reasons & the measures taken to avoid them. We still await an official statement from the DC. We appreciate the patience & understanding during this while..

    Jack,

Thanks for the update. It will be interesting to see what the issue is, but should ahve been avoided in the first place. I HAD a site going live tonight, won't be happening now. Sites, mine at least have been down for 35 mins.

Out of interest, which DC is it? Or do you now just have the one?

Posted in wrong thread so copied here for EUK to read and note my feelings.

"I don't like to be negative but we pay a premium for a VPS service and this isn't the 1st time this has happened to me. For what I pay I expect be notified instead of my clients and customers coming to me with complaints.

To read a reply on this thread saying a restore is coming from the 15th May is absolutely disgusting, seriously. Yet again I have e-commerce data loss to deal with and no notification from EUK again. Shared hosting has less problems than me just now!

I'm anything but a happy customer, you know my IP EUK, I want compensation this time."

Hi, it must be Milton Keynes data centre as thats where my dedicated server is.
I've had perfect service for 6 months up until now with 100% uptime so I'm sure this must be something completely unexpected.

I'm glad it's not just my server, lets hope it's sorted soon.
I'll be interested to see what it is as the Mk servers have dual power and dual network service. I would like to know how this affected both networks as I told my customers that we were protected against outage by network problems.

Luckily I've not been bombarded by complaints yet, as they must all be eating their dinner!
No doubt the ones who monitor their websites will be questioning me soon and I'll need some good answers

My VPS is on EL147 on IP 92.48.x.x. I can't access it at all at the moment. Is this the same fault??

I started hosting some really critical services on my dedicated server a couple of days ago. The fact that the servers are down is losing me money. I've been happy with eUKHost so far, but if this isn't resolved quickly then I shall have to consider taking my custom elsewhere.

    Default Update

    Hi,

This has been diagnosed as a large sustained DDoS botnet attack aimed that deals with these routed ranges. The network team have been called out and they are working on this right now. We will keep you updated in the same thread regarding the updates.

Your patience and cooperation is appreciated.

Thanks for the update. A DDoS attack I can deal with, that is something that is beyond EUKHosts control. Annoying though, but these things happen.

    Keep us posted.

Looks like this fault is affecting a lot more IP ranges than the ones mentioned at the start of this thread. I guess we'll just need to sit tight and wait for the guys to sort it .

Not even an e-mail to say there is a fault.. From a major company, kind of shocking really.

It'd also be nice if the guy on the other end of the support chat window didn't leave you hanging without an answer as to what is going on.

I know it's not possible to say 100%, but is this likely to result in a loss of data? The only reason I ask is because I'm running a dedicated server, so have no EUKHost back-ups to rely on, and only have my own back-ups, which would be painful to restore if the whole data has gone from the server.

    Thanks in advance...

It is a Network problem , so your server should be sat there running
Just not able to connect to it

My sites are also down on the 94.x.x.x network (manchester)

In which case DDoS botnet excuse doesn't really stand up I am afraid. There is no way a DDoS would attack and take down all of these networks, or your infrastructure design is really quite pathetic.

More chance of England winning the world cup than that story being true!

That said, I'm relieved as I thought it was me upgrading an iffy Wordpress plugin crashed the server lol!
