Default Shared Server Down - Victorious

    Dear Customers,

Our shared server Victorious.eukhost.com is down at the moment. There are a few issues with the RAID controllers on the server. We would be attempting to fix the RAID array for another hour. If the RAID cannot be fixed by 4.30PM, we would be migrating all the accounts to a new server.

As usual, we would be updating the forum about any further development on this. We thank you all for your patience during this while.

Servers was back up, are you still considering migrating?

Appears that the raid has been an issue since the rebuild. (20/09)

    Dear Customers,

We have had little luck with RAID until now. We were using branded Dell Controllers and the server was also commissioned into service just in the recent past. We are trying our last ditch measures to fix RAID on the present server. If it does not work out, we would be migrating accounts shortly. A fresh server is being setup right now to facilitate the migration process.

    Hi Nick,

Glad to hear that it's being migrated

There's been quite a few issues with Victorious of late (which have invariably cost me time and money Grrrrr) - so I'll be glad to have a new home

    Dear Customers,

Victorious is up now. The server is back online and so are all the websites. However, we would be migrating very soon to a new server as a pre-caution. We are trying our best to keep the IP's same in order to avoid downtime.

We thank you for the patience and understanding shown in this while. Further update would be posted about the migration.

    Hiya Nick,

Have you blocked Cpanel, pop3 and smtp to the server while you migrate?

If changes are required to be made, when will you let us know?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Cpanel, pop3 and smtp have all been restarted. These should be fine now.

    Hiya,

Still having problems with emails - notifying password/usernames incorrect and webmail imap failing, whats the anticipated ETA on the migration?

    Thanks.

Default Should the migration fix the problems?

    Hi,

I've been having email access problems off and on for the last couple of weeks now. Can't get on tonight to check accounts either through Outlook or webmail. Keep getting password issues with webmail.

Should this migration sort out all the recent problems with Victorious? Glad I've not got many clients so far!

    Cheers

    Dear Customers,

The email problems would be gone once the server has been migrated. We request you to bear with us for a few more hours. Once the migration is done, there would be no further problems on Victorious.

Once again, we thank you all for your co-operation and understanding.

    Hiya Nick,

How is it going for time? Will the switch over occur shortly?

    Thanks.

Yes. We expect it to be done by 4 or 5 AM. I'll let you know once I get exact information from our technical team.

I understand that the people at eukhost are doing their best to fix this problem, but is there any reassurance that this wont happen again. I reckon I have lost at least €300 to €400 today alone and have had to give free hosting to my clients for next month just to keep them.

I dont really want to have to give free hosting every time something goes wrong. This is 2 full days in 2 weeks that the server has been down and my clients are getting nervious that staying with the hosting is a bad idea.

Fantastico, Roundcube and the extra bits going to be added today?

Will that cause any disruption to service?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Yes, we are installing the addon modules on server now.
You would be able to use it within next 1 to 2 hours.

I have noticed a couple minor problems since the migration.

    1. Default "catch-all" email address corrupted ("fail:" is added in front of email address).

    2. Cron jobs shows "/usr/bin/crontab permissions are wrong. Please set to 4755" and all my existing cron jobs have disappeared.

    3. Some of my outgoing email seems to be getting flagged by spam filters especially when sending to yahoo or hotmail accounts.

Other than the above everything seems to be working fine. Thank you very much.

    Hi Mihil,

Catch-all was disabled on the server as Dictionary attack was creating problems for us on the old server and we were not able to migrate data due to high load created by Mail bombers. You can setup your catchall once again, but we reserve rights to disable your catchall if we see dictionary attack on your domain.

One of our system admins will rectify cronjobs problem and get back to you once it is done.

We will need to recreate your domain keys as the server hardware has changed and domain keys need to be recreated once hardware is changed. If you open a ticket for our support team then they will get this sorted for you.

I sincerely appreciate your feedback on migration of Victorious as very few techies can find out this kind of problems without SSH access.

    Hello,

The permissions on the crontab has already been corrected.

The default/catchall email address of client was set to "fail" forcefully to avoid spam emails from getting into your inbox as the spamd service was not functioning properly on old server(Old Victorious).

You can change it to your default one or provide us with the list of domains, we will do it for you.

Also, we have updated the default mail server's IP and removal request has been added under yahoo and hotmail. It would take another 24 to 48hrs for the IPs to be removed from those blacklists.
