Cloud VPS Hosting launch on 26th January 2010
Dear Customers,
We at eUKhost are pleased to announce the launch of Cloud VPS Hosting on Tuesday 26th January 2010. This cloud is based on VMWare virtualization technology which is currently the best solution available for 100% uptime on VPS hosting. We tested Applogic, VMWare, Parallels Cloud and Microsoft Hyper-V and decided to go ahead with VMWare as there are absolutely no bugs in VMWare.
Some of the most important features of VMWare are :-
VMware Fault Tolerance :
• Provides zero-downtime and zero-data-loss continuous availability in the case of hardware failures
• Eliminates even the smallest of disruptions in the event of hardware failures
• Can be used with any application
VMware Hot Add :
• Allows CPU and memory to be added to running virtual machines without disruption or downtime
• Allows virtual HBAs and NICs to be added to or removed from virtual machines without disruption or downtime
Performance and Scalability :
• Over 8,900 database transactions per second per virtual machine.
• Increased MS SQL Server throughput efficiency by 20%
VMware® Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS)/VMware® Distributed Power Management (DPM) :
• DRS continuously monitors virtual machines and physical servers to optimally align compute capacity to application requirements based on business priorities
• DPM optimizes DRS clusters for the lowest possible power consumption
VMware® Storage VMotion :
• Live migration of virtual disks from one storage location to another without disruption to users
• New, simple administrator interface
VMware® VMotion :
• Live migration of virtual machines from one server to another without disruption to users
VMware® High Availability (HA) :
• Continuous monitoring of servers in a pool and automated restart of virtual machines on alternate servers in the event of hardware failures
• Automated restart of virtual machines in the event of OS failures
The wait for customers wanting Cloud VPS has finally come to an end and we are sure that they would be more than happy with the outcome of this waiting period
We are not disclosing any information with regards to specifications of the plans or prices at the moment as this information would be made public on the launch date itself.Cloud Hosting - Pay-As-You-Go Hosting with eNlight Cloud

Great News.
Thanks for the update Ryan.
Now we can understand the reason that has delayed the official release of Cloud Servers. As usual you guys rock.Eukhost has been known for its customer service and one of a kind professional and prompt technical support.IMO. they would prefer to delay the launch of any new service for customers, until they have tested it from all angles. Keep up the good work guys

Hi Shane,
Unfortunately we won't be offering any test VPSs this time around as we did with the Applogic based Cloud VPS in December. We conducted thorough tests on the Applogic Cloud as well as VMWare cloud and decided to go ahead with VMWare as it turned out to be flawless.
You can go ahead and purchase one after it is launched, I am sure you won't be disappointed
Thank You for your interest Peter. Even though I won't be able to disclose the actual prices before the launch, I can assure you that they would be very reasonable

Finally, we are so close to the Cloud Hosting !!!
If we compare the features offered on Cloud VPS Hosting and a normal VPS Hosting plan, we can easily conclude that this Newer Technology would go far beyond the old one.
If I only look at VMware® High Availability (HA) feature, I find it worth paying for Cloud VPS hosting. Isn't it worth?

Any idea what time today we can expect the packages to be available?
Cheers!

Hi, I put an order through for your cloud VPS but support say the servers aren't set up yet. Can you give me an idea of when you think the servers will be up and my hosting activated?
Thanks
John

Hi John,
I just had a word with one of our senior administrators from the VPS team, we have the servers ready in the Cloud environment and we are about to begin the setup of your VPS. I will update you about the setup time required in a short while from now.Cloud Hosting - Pay-As-You-Go Hosting with eNlight Cloud

Hi John,
The setup process of your VPS has begun. You shall receive the login information in the Welcome Email as soon as setup process is completed. Since the environment is completely new, it may take a little longer that the usual VPS setup times.Cloud Hosting - Pay-As-You-Go Hosting with eNlight Cloud

Hi Again, being reading and I've added eukhost vps cloud to my upgrade options.
I would probably start of with the vps-01, and expand as needed.
I would probably for now keep my reseller account on my old server, but use whmcs to make accounts on eukhost, for which I will still require cpanel, but is the vps-01 good enough to run cpanel, as I've usually read that 512mb is the bare minimum for running cpanel?
Kind Regards
