Default Hooking up a printer wirelessly

I need help. I know this can be done, I have seen it. But, I don't remember how. Someone please walk me through the steps of hooking my laptop onto my printer via online or wireless. I do have a wireless router if that helps.

I don't like having to run across the room and physically hook the printer cable up to my laptop, every time I need to print. I would like to be able to print from my computer and just go pick up my pages when I am ready. Thanks!

Hi Emmielyn, when you search for a printer from the laptop, is it able to locate it ? You'd need to have the printer drivers installed on your Laptop along with it (printer) setup/shared to pick up the printer by default by the laptop.

    Question

If I know the name and model of the printer, can I download the printer drivers off the internet? If so, would I then be able to wireless find the printer and connect it from my laptop?

Look on your network and sharing centre. You should be able to see the printer there as long as the printer is hooked up physically to a computer that is on and connected to the wireless network.

A follow-up question: Will the printer connect-directly to the router to serve as a Network Printer?

Is the printer wireless? Or does it have an ethernet connection? Conventional USB printers may not be add to a network unless it is specifically a network printer, or your router has a built in print server.
