    Default Vista SP2

    Anybody installed it ?
I did. I had 178GB of free space pre installation, I had 218 gig of free space post installation! What was Vista doing with 40GB of space!

Did you install the service pack cleanly? ie: formatted the earlier one & then did a clean install of the SP2? I doubt cache/temp files using up all that space..

I just dl'd and installed. Google it there is more than just me getting that much space back. Not only that the original Vista 64 installation is barely a month installed and has only a few games / music on it too.

SP2 deletes all the incremental update install packages (from SP1 onwards) as it contains them all anyway.
As someone who regularly sets up and installs new computers there is always loads of updates to be downloaded when you start - guess they really do take up a lot of space
