im on the leads server i get this error on my invoicing script..

allow_url_fopen oprions is disabled in your PHP configuration. You will not be able to use this script, as it uses fopen PHP function to fetch HTML pages.

You need a php.ini file to enabling that function.
Alot of our scripts use that function, for security reasons its turned off.

If you supply tech with the domain - im sure they will drop the php.ini file onto the root directory for you.

In future you just have to include it within your file set when uploading sites.

We have disabled the allow_url_fopen PHP config variable in php.ini for security reasons.

Although you can apply custom PHP settings for some of the PHP variables by using your own customized php.ini. The process is as simple as including the following line to your own php.ini file:

allow_url_fopen = On


It is worth mentioning that - disabling this makes our servers more secure!

Hi where do i finr or where do i create php.ini as had a quick look and I cant find it and I need allow_url_fopen = On for accountlabs plus to work apparently.

Hi,

The php.ini file is not present by default. You need to create one in the home directory of your account. BTW, the php.ini file you create will be applicable for a directory and not for the whole account. If you could email us with your domain name, we will enable allow_url_fopen function for your account.

I am a little lost, as when I checked my account I coukld find a setting and that was switched on the php.ini file I couldnt find .

However if i have to create it then thats whay I cant find it and where should this file sit exactly?

I guess now I am at the point of pack up and give in.

I read the forums, speak to the help, go away and try and I cant find things, either because they are not there or that I am not used to where its hidden.

getting kind of desperate now, had my account 3 days ish, installed a billing system which doesnt work because of this allow_url_fopen/ php.ini issue ?

in whm the allow_url_fopen is on, but the php.ini I am struggling with as there was such a file, and I dont know what the structure of the file should be like.

Having read forums I read and a usr/ path and copying the default php.ini but I cant find this path either except mentions of it in whm PHP Configuration Editor.

Have to get thos sorted soon or pack up!

Madwayne, try this:

1. Log in to the cPanel account of the domain where you want to enable allow_url_fopen.
2. Go to the File Manager and from there, browse to the public_html folder.
3. Create a new file called php.ini. Open that file to edit.
4. Paste the following into php.ini:

allow_url_fopen = On

5. Save the changes.

allow_url_fopen should now be enabled for that domain.

Hi after all this and with some serious investigation Sebastian from EUK support ressolved the issue.

apparently the fantastico required a manual update or something so the actual version installed of accountlabs plus was correct.(ie it said it was version r14 but it wasnt until the fantastico was manually updated).

Its hard trying to solve something when you look in the wrong place, but only looking there as it was suggested elsewjere to do so.

trying to get the damn account labs setup so everything is automated but not sure on what my settings should be as I cant find a reasonable manual anywhere.

I managed to get parts of the program working, but I have requested there support in finding out what I need to do and for a manual thats not as vague as some of their forum posts.

I dont belive in just getting things done for you, I believe in trying to learn, unfirtunatley somethings we cant do, others its finding out what to put where.

I have a 7 day licence to evaluate the product, so time is pushing on.

Does anyone know of a manul or someone that can talk me through setting up the accountlabs to make my hosting packages auto install?

I think you should consider WHMCS instead of AWBS. WHMCS Documentation is far better than Awbs and hundreds of our customers are using WHMCS. You can ask setup related questions here as well and you will get help from many members who are active on this forum.

accountlabsplus are looking into my current installation to get it fully functional as for whmcs where do I start visited there website and ended up going round in circles.

some times I feel like a dumb blonde....hmm that can be take more than one way.

It be a lot better if you had this solution installed at trhe start, as a neewbie to doing my own hosting found it a up hill battle even with the fantstic support on the forums and through EUKhost.

EUK use WHMCS I can see so I guess it cant be so bad, but come on help a newbie blonde...

WHMCS isn't too hard to setup in any case, the documentation is good enough to even help those who haven't touched a web hosting package before.

I've used WHMCS before and found it to be the best, and with the release of version 4 I've heard it's even better. If you're serious about using WHMCS then you should have a look at licensepal.com as you can get discounted WHMCS licenses from there.

I couldn't find any real documentation on AccountLabs Plus aside from their forum. The documentation (what there is of it) is rather sparse, though.

Regarding WHCMS, if you're looking for WHMCS documenation, then their wiki would be the place to start: Main Page - WHMCS Documentation. The wiki is actually quite comprehensive and should be easy to browse through. If you're looking to purchase a WHMCS license, though, then I also recommend you go have a look at LicensePal. It'll save you a few bucks.

If that's not what you're looking for, then can you please elaborate? I'm not really sure what you're looking for.
