    Exclamation Mysql Database Creation

I want to create a new database from scratch.

Is there phpmyadmin or something simular that I can use? I have a .sql file that I used to create the database with phpmyadmin but I dont have a .bak file.

Ive tried the SQLyog program but I cant get it to install, the file is 8.19mb is that the correct size or shouldI dwnload it again? If its the wrong size how big is SQLyog?

You can use PHPMyAdmin to setup your database and make it work as per your requirements. You can access your PHPMyAdmin from MySQL section of cpanel.

There's no such limit for uploading or downloading database using PHPMyAdmin. There is file limit on cpanel server which is of 2GB but that should not make any difference to you as your database is close to 9 MB only.

I log into my account then goto tools, database manager. I crated my database but I cannot find the link to access phpmyadmin. The only links are backup, restore and delete.

It seems that you are on a windows server with HostingController 6.1 so you will need to use a MySQL Server client like MySQLYog or DreamWeaver to manage your database.

PHPMyAdmin support is not available with version 6 of hostingcontroller so you can get your account moved to one of our new servers with HC 7.0 or you can use MySQLYog or DreamWeaver if you don't want to loose time in moving data.

I'm not sure if remote connections are allowed on the database, If yes, you could use enterprise manager which should ideally be on your home/office PC if you work with MS SQL Servers. Search for "SQL manager 2005 for SQL Server lite" which is a third part tool if you don't have ms-sql client tools installed on the home/office PC.

He has mentioned MySQL and not MS SQL Server

Remote access is enabled on our windows servers so you can connect to your database with authentication using MySQLYog or DreamWeaver.

If the server is running PHP could he not just upload a copy of PHPMyAdmin into his webspace?

You cannot upload PHPMyAdmin from your account and run it. It needs to be instaleld by the Administrator and permissions should be setup on it to allow access to individual customers to respective databases.

As of now PHPMyAdmin is available for us but we cannot give its access to customers as hostingcontroller has got its own authentication structure and they need to include it for all end users.

There's no extra cost to move to our new server.

You can simply open a ticket from our helpdesk : http://support.eukhost.com and one of our staff members will setup a new account for you on new server. If you can wait for 2 - 3 days then we will have phpmyadmin on your existing server itself as we are planning to upgrade it to HC7.

Sorry, I did not drink the other night, so was out of my mind

Upgrading to HC 7 would be a good step, since in my experience, it has bridged the gap between Cpanel features and HC6. All issues/missing features that I noticed in HC6 seem to have been resolved/introduced in HC7.

Yeah. You are right on this.

I wish hostingcontroller had better marketing team as HC is far better than Plesk. This guys are really helpful and 1 call from my side makes them sort things within no time. I feel like I am a important part of HC and this approach shows how good their support and service is.

Hopefully we can help them to grow fast as we are their resellers and we will bring multiple license orders for them which will bring good growth to HC.
