How do you find URLs in the anchor text of sites linking to my site
I am trying to work out the best way of finding links to my site. I know about the google link: command and I also search for the url of my site using google. However the link: command does not tell the whole story and there must be a better way of finding out how many anchor text links there are to my site since these are supposed to be ranked well by google.
Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Jimmy,
https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ gives list of all incoming and outgoing links. You can also register your website in google webmasters as they give detailed information about the backlinks in the webmasters section.
You can also use following codes while searching in google to get detailed information related to your website as well as that of your competitors. :-
# link:url Shows other pages with links to that url.
# related:url same as "what's related" on serps.
# maps: If you enter a street address, a link to Yahoo Maps and to MapBlast will be presented.
# phone: enter anything that looks like a phone number to have a name and address displayed. Same is true for something that looks like an address (include a name and zip code)
# site:Welcome to SomeSite.Net ! "+www.somesite.+net" - (tells you how many pages of your site are indexed by google)
# allintext: searches only within text of pages, but not in the links or page title
# allinlinks: searches only within links, not text or title
# site:domain restricts search results to the given domain.
# cache:url will show the Google version of the passed url.
# info:url will show a page containing links to related searches, backlinks, and pages containing the url. This is the same as typing the url into the search box.
# spell: will spell check your query and search for it.
# allinurl: shows only pages with all terms in the url.
# inurl: like allinurl, but only for the next query word.
# allintitle: shows only results with terms in title.
# filetype: will restrict searches to that filetype. "-filetype
df" to remove Adobe PDF files.
# daterange: is supported in Julian date format only. 2452384 is an example of a Julian date.
# intitle: similar to allintitle, but only for the next word. "intitle:seoforgoogle google" finds only pages with seoforgoogle in the title, and google anywhere on the page.
# stocks: will lookup the search query in a stock index.UK Web Hosting || Business Hosting || eUKhost Knowledgebase

Yahoo Site Explorer is the best tool to check the incoming links. You will get the complete list of incoming links through Yahoo Site Explorer. You can use this tool to check your competitors incoming links.

Thanks for the help guys, I will give it a go. I have been using the Google Webmaster tools but I know it is definitely not reporting some links that have some good quality anchor text.
Also makes me ask the question about how comprehensive people reckon Yahoo's indexing is versus Google since in the UK my understanding is that Google massively dominates the actual searches people make, but I have no feel for how their indexing is regarded.

Yeah, I agree... what I should have made clearer is that I was asking how comprehensively Yahoo is indexing the web versus Google (so that I can be sure that Site Explorer is finding all the linksIgnore Yahoo completely and focus on google only. We get 1 visitor from Yahoo and 1 from MSN out of 100 Search Engine referred visitors.
). I seem to get the Yahoo spider coming through fairly often.
