Tracking Global Search Trends
Google is now providing trending data for every keyword in their database.
1. Visit their keyword tool - adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
2. Enter a keyword
3. Select options from the drop-down menu
Google will show a bar chart that shows the total search volume by month, as well as the months in which the search volume is the highest.Cloud Hosting - Pay-As-You-Go Hosting with eNlight Cloud

Very interesting tool and stats! But it would have been much better if it could have provided the actual figures alongwith the graphics. Nevertheless it's still useful.

I dont think google is updating the trends in real time, also ppl use google in different ways - a keyword set that seems good to you may not make sense to others. How you can overcome to such situation?

I've made a webpage that uses the trends published in google trends, I'm trying to make some kind of research about what and how people search, you can see different trends depending on the dates and I'm also using google webmaster tools to study the results. The web is arnalduatis.com be my guest and take a look. PS: Sorry for my english
