Domains as Gifts
I'm considering purchasing a couple of .com domains as Christmas gifts for my Great Nieces. This is mainly to give them email addresses and I shall create accounts for them on my own VPS. Is it possible for me to register in the names of the people receiving them or transfer them into their names later.
Cheers Martyn

Hi Martyn,
You can register the domains in the names of your nieces and change the registrant information later whenever you wish to.Cloud Hosting - Pay-As-You-Go Hosting with eNlight Cloud

You can do it either way. In this situation it really won't affect it either way. You can do whichever is most convienient to yourself

That's a fantastic Idea Martyn

I will gift domains and email addresses on those domains this xmas. My elder cousins won't like such gift as they don't need website or email address, but I will convince them to start using those.

I think they make great gifts, especially for tech savvy people.

Nice idea, however I think if you gift someone the domain name and hosting too from your reseller/VPS account, there are more chances that they can make use of them.

Domain names make excellent gifts. I figure, for the price, even if the recipients only use it as an email address, it's worth it.

I drink coffee on the go usually so unless I happen to be carry a laptop around in my hand and it's on, it's a pretty useless gizmo.
I do however already own my domain name. Lol.Jonathan Crass
