connection reset by peer
Hi,
Getting a problem trying to FTP our backups to a local machine.
We had a similar issue some time ago caused by a problem with our FTP client so we created a batch file and run windows FTP, this worked fine up until a couple of weeks ago, not it starts the download and goes so far pulling down the different gz files and then we get connection reset by peer. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now, and I had tried a few things but only today sat down to try to work it out. I thought it may have been a duf file, but looking through the logs it does not seem to stop on one file, but more on the amount of time 3 mins every time. I have also tried this over different ISP lines and the same thing.
Anyone got any ideas before I go over to live chat?
Cheers

Are you using Active or Passive FTP?

We are just issuing an FTP command from windows so I do not know if this is pasive or not.
The part command we are using is:
ftp -i -s:weekly.txt
then the txt holds some move and select stuff and then:
mget *.tar.gz
As I say, this has always worked before with no problems.

I've changed the FTP server back to Pure-FTPD. Please submit a ticket for our VPS Department and provide them with exact details of this problem. They will need to check all logs on your server and then apply necessary fix.
I'm not able to figure out anything from the logs as I don't know what exactly you are trying to do from your side.UK Web Hosting || Business Hosting || eUKhost Knowledgebase

Hi,
Thanks for looking at it.
We have a weekly backup that runs (set up by one of your chaps) he set up a new hosted account that runs the backup, then once we get the email to say backup completed, we FTP all the different backup files from all our hosted accounts.
Does that help?
