    Question Multiple Failures

For the last three mornings my vps has started having multiple failures (spamd, imap, pop, ftpd, exim etc) at about 2am. These failure (each generating an email to me) continue for several hours (first 2 till just before 10am - last night till 5am).

This behaviour has happened before sporadically - and like this time I go on live chat. Usually I end up being told 'Please check your VPS now' ... and it is working usually slowly at first. However I never get any closer to finding the cause.

So does anyone have any pointers as to how I go about stopping this happening again tonight

If its occuring at the same time(s) when it occurs wouldn't that suggest that maybe its a problem with something running on your server between or just before those times?

Maybe the logs will yeild some answers?

Hi Shane - not heard anything yet.

Last night again things started failing just after 1am - but all was back to normal by 2am and only spamd and imap were affected this time.

Not sure if you guys did something or not - but the situation is improving.

I'd still like to get a better idea of what is causing it though.

    Hello,

Yes, yesterday I worked on your issue but forgot to reply you on forum. We did try to call you on phone but had no response. So, preferred to open a ticket (HIL-49071-690) for you as we may not be able to explain all details on the forum.

We do have direct SSH access but still I asked for the root password as we need to edit some settings from WHM.

So please reply to the ticket, so that we can quickly solve the issue for you.

    Best Regards,
