Thumbs up VPSes restarted becuase of power down

    Hello,

Today at 18:41 hrs, a power distribution board in our datacenter building 1 tripped taking out approximately 30 racks. This has now been reset and all racks have also been reset. The reason for this failure is unknown at the moment but a full report will be issued within the next 24 hours.

This has caused most of our hardware nodes to reboot. We have started all VPSes serially but if any customer is still facing any problems, please feel free to get in touch with us through live chat or send an email to vps@eukhost.com

We apologise for the outage and any inconvenience this may have caused.

    Best Regards,
    Sebastian

Thanks Shane - I seem to be having a few problems but Michael is currently looking into it. It's only an idea, but when things like this happen could it be made possible for you to also email the owners of affected VPS's as well as post here - an email would have alerted me a bit sooner than waking up to find problems this morning? As I say it's only an idea.

You can have that now if you sign up to eUkhost Monitoring Services. There's a Sign Up link at the top of the page.

There are lots of options you can set for which services you want to monitor (including bandwidth, CPU load), how often it should be monitored, how often you wish to be alerted etc.

Thanks Steve, I'm already registered with that and should have been more specific - I was meaning a quick email from EUKHOST explaining that there has been a problem and what's happening?

Myself, I'd prefer a technician to spend time fixing the problem rather than sending out emails.

whilst I agree with texterted i also agree with baxtermedia... being in the know when clients call is always beneficial...

the server monitoring on offer from eukhost also works well.... we now have all servers on it...
