Webmin questions
I've been using cPanel/WHM for some time but I've had a look at Webmin recently and I liked what I saw. I do have a few questions, though. Is it at all possible to move from cPanel to Webmin without having to wipe the VPS and reload the OS? I've looked around and I can't seem to find anything about uninstalling cPanel so it looks like that might be the case. Also, regarding the fully managed solution at eUKhost... I know some hosts only support full management if you use certain control panels, but does eUKhost also provide fully managed services even if you don't use cPanel or Plesk?

Hello
Hello,
It will be very complicated task to migrate from cPanel to Webmin on the same VPS. Following will be the procedure for migration :
- First of all, it is not possible to change the control panel on the existing VPS. We'll need to create new VPS and install Webmin on it.
- Then create all your domains and databases manually from Webmin.
- Migrate webdata for every domain to the respective web directory.
- Create and move .sql (database) backups from the source server to the Webmin server and then restore it. You have to take care of database users also.
- Both Control panels use different mail servers, “ cPanel uses Exim and Webmin uses Qmail “ So emails will not get transferred properly.
It’s not the case that we don’t support other control panels. We give our best efforts for every technical issue. The only thing is we give an assurance with cPanel and Plesk issues, which we can’t give on webmin and other control panels.

We offer only cPanel and Plesk on our hosting plans and we've had a lot of success with each of them. We do not support any other control panel as a result of which you'll need to take care of configuring domains, email accounts and other settings if you are using Webmin. We will try our best to assist you with it. This applies to all 3rd party software's. You can install any 3rd party application/software however we do not offer technical support to manage those.
I think it's just a matter of personal preference over with control panel interface you'll be most comfortable with.
Feel free to post if you have any questions.

Thanks, guys, that all makes a great deal of sense. I figured it had to be something like that, but thought I might as well ask. I just thought Webmin was kinda interesting so I was hoping I could get to play around with it a bit. Guess it's not a good idea to try on a production VPS.
