    Default suprise

    still down!

RonnieV: so we have decide to migrate it to newly setup server with another parttitons
paul : ok, thanks any idea when, hours/days?
RonnieV: the migration take 4-5 hours

10 hours later i assume the new server has failed too

all hosting companies are good when working fine , but you only ever get to know the really good ones when things go wrong.
Not so much as an update on the situation here and we are now in day 4

Yeah cPanel Still practically useless so I can't update anything on my site or even do a backup just in case it all gets mashed.

My site went down again in the evening last night (no surprises there) but came up again shortly after, cPanel still a waste of time.

By the way, complaints procedure (I'm told) was to email support@eukhost.com - Did exactly that and got an email just apologising and assuring me that all will be fixed (with many spelling mistakes as well

Think I might have to try going down the compensation route. There's no possible way I can run a successful website with all this going on.

    Default I agree

And to make it worse tech support say its my outlook settings even though they are unchanged and the same as they have ever been. I,m not an IDIOT so DON'T treat me like one!!!!
Cpanel takes 20 mins to connect likewise with webmail. Admit you have an issue and don't tell me its my settings please!!!!

POOR service and i for one will not use you again.

Eukhost is not a serious Webhosting company.Eukhost is a group of friends.

    Default maybe

they need a friend who can fix servers and has the ability to update paying customers. No wonder the country is in a mess when the UK accept such poor customer services.

It's unfortunate, but when it comes to tech support a lot of companies will (by default) blame the customer on having incorrect settings/not set-up correctly and will only do something about it if you directly prove its not your issue. However in this case its rather clear that its eukhost's problem.

    Default I wonder...

If anybody knows how easy it is to move an entire Home Dir backup to another cPanel host...would it still work with minimal effort..?

Think I could probably get my site working by taking it all to bits and setting it up without cPanel, but that would be a total ballache that I don't want to endure just because eukhost can't seem to fix stuff/can't fix stuff in a timely fashion.

    Hello,

All the data has been synced and colchester rebooted for one last time. Will be online shortly.

Your patience and understanding is much appreciated.

All seems to be back up..Check cPanel status, CPU's overloaded?

    Server Load 3.23 (16 cpus)

S'pose that's better since it was like 24.00 the other day.

    Default All fixed?

    Seems to be ok now.

Actually, EUKHost are much better than some out there... but it would be nice to know whether they think they have got to the bottom of the problems that this server has been experiencing over the last few days, and that they are confident that they will not happen again. It was alarming to read that their own automatic diagnostic systems had not alerted them to a load problem, and that this only came to light when they undertook a routine FSCK.

Personally, though, I found Fasthosts much worse!

    Hello,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your continued understanding & patience shown.

In regards to colchester server, /home was mounted on the partition with ext4 file system and that caused all the problem. We found that the server threw the file system error. This is the reason we decided to change the file system on /home. As this needed to be completed in Live environment, we have to sync the data onto some other server and mount it via NFS. Then formatted the original /home with ext3 and then re synced the updated data onto the original partition with ext3 partition.

For any issues, contact us via Live chat & we will be happy to assist you.
