I am close to it, I use Opera a lot more now. I have even noticed a slight increase of using IE too.

Ff used to be cool when it was actually "taking back the web" but now Mozilla is just another Microsoft our way or the highway company. They've lost track of what they used to be about and upgrading to a new version every 10 days and having to fix your extensions is boring.

Agreed. And you can always tell something is going majorly bad when it makes you start using IE more! .

I'm not sure whether Mozilla is becoming another Microsoft, because lets face it, they never used to provide updates for their browser. It's only been recently that they've realised the importance of innovating with IE for competition purposes, because other browsers were obviously winning market share.

I think plenty of people's attitudes have changed about Firefox because of various things such as it becoming bloated and using a lot of resources, etc. I still think Firefox is a good browser, but there is definitely competition to Mozilla now, including Google's Chrome browser, Internet Explorer 9, etc. It'd be interesting to see whether Mozilla is concerned about losing market share.

I meant becoming a Microsoft in the sense they literally don't care what is the end user wants anymore. They roll out update after update that causes extensions to break, so it takes more time firguring out how to get these things to work than you do actually browsing.

Remember you used to be able to pretty much customize whatever you wanted, now they have things where its STFU like it or use another browser. URL bar is a major example for me.

IE has definitely improved over the years, is it great ? Nah not really but do you know what to expect from them ? Yes. Firefox, definitely not.

As regards Chrome, anything Google pushes my paranoia through the roof. I wouldnt use a browser by an advertising company.

I agree that Mozilla is becoming like Microsoft in the way Brian describes below. Firefox is just basically losing the plot at the moment.

I honestly don't rate Chrome that highly either, well not the OS X version anyway...

And Mozilla should care about losing market share. Look what happened to Netscape when they stopped caring about market share .

Agreed. I'm not as suspicious of Chrome though as you are . It just don't think its great (at least not the OS X version).

At the moment while I'm using OS X (which is vast majority of the time), it's Safari all the way. It's how Firefox should be! .
